Ceramics Teacher Job Description

At Clay Space Inc., we are seeking a skilled Ceramics Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ceramics and be able to teach various techniques to students of all skill levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach ceramics classes to students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced artists.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of our students.
  • Prepare and deliver craftmaking lessons that showcase various ceramics techniques.
  • Design and create ornamental and ceramic functional earthenware pieces for display and sale.
  • Organize day-to-day business operations and ensure the smooth running of our studio.
  • Supervise apprentices or other artisans and provide guidance and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in ceramics teaching or a related field.
  • Artistic skills: Strong skills in ceramics, including handbuilding and throwing on the wheel.
  • Communication skills: Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

The Ceramics Teacher will work in a private studio setting, with access to a well-equipped ceramics studio and a team of experienced artists and instructors.

Hours: 40 hours per week
