Key Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital. Your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional customer service to our clients and their pets.

Key Attributes
  • Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents
  • Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients
  • General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
  • Compassion and nurturing attitude
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to adapt to changing situations
  • Efficient in carrying out assignments independently
  • Takes initiative to complete tasks throughout the day
Additional Responsibilities

In addition to the above responsibilities, you will also be responsible for:

  • Answering a multiline phone system and tracking and booking appointments effectively
  • Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
  • Responding and managing email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
  • Admitting and discharging pet patients Invoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation, and processing payments
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willingsness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
  • Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality or retail is an asset
