Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Shared Health - Selkirk Mental Health Centre. As a key member of the treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve patient-centered goals.
  • Provide direct care and support to patients, including assistance with daily living activities, therapeutic interventions, and recreational activities.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive environment, promoting patient autonomy and dignity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health care.
Requirements
  • Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
