Job Summary

As a Home Care Attendant, you will be responsible for providing personal care and home support services to individuals or groups of clients assigned to you. You will work under the direction of the Resource Coordinator - Home Care and function as a member of the Home Care team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide paraprofessional services to assist frail, physically disabled, and/or mentally challenged clients of all ages to remain in their own homes as long as safely possible.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed, and action to be taken on unusual matters.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with the elderly or disabled in a community setting is preferred.
  • A Grade 12 education is required, and a Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate with a community component from a recognized post-secondary institute is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Safe Food Handling is essential.
  • The ability to work independently and as a team member, apply critical thinking skills, and respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) is required for this position.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $20.09 - $23.99 per hour, based on location and experience. You will also have access to benefits, including a comprehensive health and dental plan, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
