We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Ethicist to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support on ethical issues related to patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and facilitate ethics consultations to address complex ethical issues in patient care.
- Provide ethics support and guidance to clinical staff, including attending ethics huddles, rounds, and patient care meetings.
- Develop and deliver education and training programs on ethics and ethical decision-making.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to advance ethical decision-making and promote a culture of ethics within the organization.
- Represent Fraser Health at external events and forums related to ethics and healthcare.
- Doctoral degree in Ethics, Philosophy, or Moral Theology, or a terminal degree in a related field.
- Master's level degree in bioethics or a related field.
- Documented experience providing clinical ethics consultation in a complex healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of ethics principles and theories, as well as applicable legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework.
- High-quality understanding of principle-based, contextual, and other contemporary ethics approaches.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to consult, plan, implement, organize, and problem-solve.
- Ability to collaborate and deal with senior staff regarding sensitive and confidential issues.
