Automation Technician Role Overview

JBS Food Canada ULC is a leading beef processor with a strong commitment to innovation and employee development. We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join our team at our main processing facility in Brooks, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic systems, including metal detectors and weighing scales
  • Calibrate and service Foss meat analyzers and label printers
  • Install and configure production data collection devices
  • Terminate data communication cables and maintain CCTV cameras
  • Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot instruments, including VFD and PLC systems

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, supplemented by a minimum of 1 year of automation experience
  • Strong computer skills, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on safety and quality
