About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Racar Canada Inc. as a Mechanical Systems Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in mechanical systems and components
  • Design and develop new mechanical systems and components, including power plants, machines, and equipment
  • Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures to ensure optimal performance
  • Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Develop and implement maintenance standards, schedules, and programs to minimize downtime and optimize system performance
  • Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Plan and manage projects, including preparing material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates
  • Assess business opportunities and develop strategies to drive growth and innovation
  • Develop risk management plans to mitigate potential risks and ensure business continuity
  • Lead and instruct groups to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Commission systems and components to ensure they meet safety and performance standards
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components, including power plants, machines, and equipment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and instruct groups
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong understanding of safety and quality standards, with the ability to ensure compliance
  • Ability to develop and implement maintenance standards, schedules, and programs
  • Strong understanding of business operations, with the ability to assess opportunities and develop strategies
  • Ability to develop risk management plans to mitigate potential risks
