Job Title: Structural Steel Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Shop Welder to join our team at Rosh Metal Ltd., a leading structural steel fabrication company.

Compensation:

The successful candidate can expect a competitive hourly wage of $34.65, reflecting the demands of the role and the cost of living in St. Aldergrove, BC.

About the Role:

This permanent, full-time position requires 35 hours of work per week. As a Metal Fabrication Shop Welder, you will be responsible for accurately interpreting blueprints and welding process specifications, selecting and measuring metals to precise specifications, and joining metals using various techniques.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications
  • Select, measure, cut, and join metals to meet precise specifications
  • Weld various assemblies, fabricate parts, and maintain equipment using GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW techniques
  • Choose the right equipment and install torch tips, filler rods, and flux based on metal thickness and size
  • Operate flame-cutting, metal-shaping, brazing, and soldering equipment
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet high standards and specifications
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment
  • Use hoisting and lifting equipment as needed
  • Follow all safety and health procedures to avoid accidents and hazards
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require 1-2 years of welding experience, a good command of English, and a high school diploma (secondary school completion). You must also possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work safely and efficiently.
