Electrical and Mechanical Technician for Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join our team at IPEX Group of Companies. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with our maintenance supervisor to ensure the efficient operation of our manufacturing facilities. This role requires a high degree of physical labor, lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects, as well as standing and walking for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues, and ensure all equipment is functioning within safety and regulatory standards.
  • Installation and Setup: Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment, machinery, and systems, including hoisting and lifting devices.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and reduce downtime.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid Canadian certification as an Electrician (309A, 442A, or Red Seal) and/or Industrial Mechanic/Millwright dual-ticket certification.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, particularly in machine maintenance and repair.
  • Solid technical and mechanical aptitude: Understanding of how machines work and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using sound problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
