Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and functional abilities to develop individually designed treatment plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to set treatment goals and develop strategies for achieving them.
- Provide treatment services to patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient facilities.
- Supervise and assign tasks to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) as needed.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams, including physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices, research, and legislative requirements in occupational therapy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited university program in occupational therapy.
- Current registration with, or eligible for registration with, The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to stay organized and prioritize effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of community resources and ability to connect patients with relevant services.
- Demonstrated behavior consistent with the hospital's Standards of Performance and iCcare values.
