About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Georama Growers. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our farm equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, and troubleshoot issues to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Diagnostic and Repair Services: Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment, and repair or replace defective parts as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Order parts and maintain inventory levels to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair reports and documentation.
  • Quality Control: Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications and is functioning properly.
  • Equipment Installation: Attach components and adjust new farm equipment to ensure proper installation and operation.
Personal Qualities and Skills
  • Attention to Detail: Accurately diagnose and repair equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Use judgment and critical thinking to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
  • Reliability and Accountability: Take ownership of maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Language and Communication: Communicate effectively with colleagues and management in English.
  • Work Schedule: Work 35 to 40 hours per week in a regular full-time schedule.
