As a Family Counsellor at Alberta Health Services, you will play a key role in the Youth Community Support Program, a cross-ministry initiative that provides a step-down service for youth and their families exiting acute inpatient mental health settings or formal treatment environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct care for children, adolescents, and their families within the Program, including assessments and group/individual treatment
- Intervene and support the planning, implementation, and management of mental health services
- Offer comprehensive clinical services, including assessment, therapy, referral to other resources, and liaison with hospital and community services
- Conduct system-based assessments and family therapy treatment
- Manage and coordinate therapeutic services for program clients and their families
- Master's degree in a health-related field
- Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college
- Minimum 5 years of experience in community mental health settings providing MH treatment to children, youth, and their families with complex mental health issues
- Experience providing expert clinical consultation to professionals
- Knowledge of community resources for children and adolescents
