Job Title: Community Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Worker to join our team at Independent Living Nova Scotia Association. As a Community Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with various needs, promoting independence, and fostering a sense of community.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and services to clients, including:

  • Preparing reports and case histories
  • Administrative and office activities
  • Housekeeping and food preparation
  • Conflict resolution and behavior management
  • Liaising with other social services agencies and healthcare providers
  • Maintaining program statistics and evaluating treatment programs
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a related field, such as social work or community development, is an asset. Additionally, certifications in areas such as first aid, CPR, and crisis intervention are desirable.
