Seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Sourcing to join our team in Toronto.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership position that will provide procurement support for the Commercial Banking platform while influencing sourcing decisions, driving supplier consolidation, cost savings, and cost avoidance efforts.

The successful candidate will partner with senior management to proactively develop negotiation and contract strategies for high-risk/complex and sensitive sourcing initiatives.

Gather and analyze data to create playbooks and strategies to support different business models for services contemplated or currently under contract and prepare findings for senior management.

Develop and negotiate complex (strategically critical, high-value, or high-risk) contract strategies that will provide cost-effective, sustainable solutions to RBC businesses and optimize total value generated from RBC's supplier base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and draft complex supplier contracts, supporting business groups in managing supplier contracts and relationships in accordance with RBC policies.
  • Proactively manage a pipeline of sourcing activities, creating plans to identify or recommend alternative sourcing strategies and suppliers that maximize value for RBC and align with long-term business strategies.
  • Develop and implement global efficiencies, standardized tools, practices, and procedures, RFPs, new suppliers, and decision-making evaluations.
  • Build effective and strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders (including executive-level) by understanding key needs and dynamics across stakeholder groups, decision makers, and influencers.
  • Secure stakeholder support for complex decisions, including those that may be unpopular, high-risk, or contentious.
  • Identify, research, and prioritize possible sourcing opportunities through internal spend analysis, knowledge of business units, potential savings, and/or business needs.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to help develop skills and abilities of team members to optimize future job performance.
  • Analyze complex procurement challenges and assist in developing solutions to best meet business needs.
Requirements

Must-have:

  • Post-secondary education or related procurement designation.
  • 7+ years' experience in global procurement, sourcing, and relationship management.
  • Experience in leading stakeholder interactions/relationships and influencing business decisions.
  • Experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
