STARS Air Ambulance is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join the IT team full-time at our Calgary base.
**Job Summary:**
The role of Software Developer will assist in the development and maintenance of JavaScript-based call center/dispatch systems, as well as maintaining/upgrading of C# WPF critical applications, including creating unit testing.
The successful candidate will also help develop integrations to external systems and requests.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist in the support and development of clinical applications hosted on-site and web-based
- Support and maintain existing JavaScript-based applications with integrations to telephony and GIS systems
- Work with the Systems Architect and operational teams to develop secure and reliable integrations with other applications and external partners utilizing Microsoft Azure API Management
- Support and maintain C# WPF application and help develop unit tests
- Help create existing system documentation and document system integration
**Requirements:**
- 3 years of experience in a developer capacity that will enable you to primarily help extend and support our healthcare and dispatch platforms, using a combination of different technologies including:
- .NET development using C# (2+ years of experience)
- JavaScript, frameworks ([website], D3,) and HTML/CSS with a good understanding of modular, component-based design (2+ years of experience)
- React JavaScript Library (2+ years of experience)
- SQL Server T-SQL (1+ years of experience)
- Understanding and experience with API (REST, RPC) and authorization (claims) principles (1+ years of experience)
**Nice to Have:**
- Experience with using unit testing frameworks such as MSTest, Postman or xUnit
- Assist in the orientation and training program for newly hired staff
