Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced baker to join our team as a Bakery Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing dough, batters, and icings for a variety of baked goods, including pies, bread, rolls, and cakes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough, batters, and icings according to recipes or special customer orders, and bake mixed dough and batters to produce high-quality baked goods.
  • Special Orders: Prepare special orders, including cakes and baked goods, to meet customer requirements.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards, and prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, including responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Bake shop environment.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye co-ordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, judgement, reliability, team player, and patience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of physical activity. The ability to work overtime is also required.

Language

The primary language of work is English.

Hours of Work

The hours of work will be 30 to 44 hours per week.
