At AtkinsRéalis, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance and Compliance Specialist to support the implementation of our project quality assurance program for major retube and refurbishment projects.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Quality Director and be responsible for leading and supervising a group of project QA professionals and Procurement Quality Assurance Representatives in technical issues or resolving quality events of major proportion and significance to the project.

Job Description

This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in quality assurance and control, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Engineering and at least 15 years of practical working experience in a relevant nuclear field. They will also possess good knowledge of CSA N 285.0, CSA N 299 and CSA N286-05 and ASME codes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supervising project QA professionals and Procurement Quality Assurance Representatives in technical issues or resolving quality events of major proportion and significance to the project.
  • As a QA specialist/expert in quality assurance and quality control filed, having prime technical and project interface with client engineering and quality group on daily and complex quality issues.
  • Establishing and maintaining a tracking system of all project manufacturing and construction History Files/Dockets for project submissions and milestones.
  • Developing project specific quality assurance plan and procedures.
  • Managing supplier audit/qualifications related to specific project scope.
  • Developing project self-assessment plan and track the completion status.
  • Supervising, co-ordinating and reviewing the work of quality staff and support employees.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years practical working experience in a relevant nuclear field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of procedures, processes, equipment, and techniques.
  • Good knowledge of CSA N 285.0, CSA N 299 and CSA N286-05 and ASME codes.
  • Good understanding of relevant CANDU systems, and retube technology.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and effectiveness in interpersonal relationships.
