Job Summary

The Millwright position at our Woodstock quarry site requires a skilled individual to work collaboratively with other millwrights, electricians, welders, and production workers to accomplish assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include participating in plant safety initiatives, completing scheduled work on-time, and providing feedback to the plant supervisor for work improvements.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Promote a safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC, subcontractors, and suppliers. Implement and maintain local and regional safety initiatives with the objective of zero safety incidents.
• Ensure the plant and surrounding site are kept safe, presentable, and functional.
• Understand Near Miss and HI process, MVA's, FA's, MI's, LTI's, Daily Safety Huddles, Risk Assessments, Confined Space, and WAH permits.

Technical Skills

• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

Operations

• Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
• Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.

Operator Functions

• Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, lacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
• Operate machine tools such as arils and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.

Troubleshooting

• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.

Maintenance

• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.

Other

• Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.

Qualifications

• Industrial/Mining plant operational experience.
• Welding and fitting.
• Minimum 3 years experience in maintenance.
• Heavy Equipment Operation an Asset.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Working outdoors and varied temperatures and weather conditions.
• Working indoors in varied conditions (ie. hot, noisy, dusty).
• Rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
• Mobility through all areas of the plant required, including stairs and ladders.
• Regular bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting less than 50 lbs.
• Working at heights and confined spaces.
