The Respiratory Inpatient unit at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is a dynamic and collaborative environment that provides exceptional care to patients with a variety of breathing-related problems. As a Registered Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, registered practical nurses, patient care assistants, dietitians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a discharge planner, social worker, a respiratory therapist, a speech language pathologist, a chaplain, unit clerks, and volunteers.

Job Summary:

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies, and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and all relevant legislation.
  • Working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless integration of care and provide exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure clear understanding and coordination of care.
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Additional formal educational requirements/certifications as required in the department.
  • Membership in a professional association specific to nursing service area.
  • Computer literacy in current software applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service.
