Job Summary

The Assistant Manager is a key member of the Dexterra Group team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facilities. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide our staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform opening and closing procedures to ensure seamless operations
  • Monitor cash handling and inventory management to maintain accuracy and efficiency
  • Handle HR-related tasks, including vacation requests and staff training
  • Assist with payroll and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations
  • Recruit and train staff to meet business needs
  • Set staff work schedules and monitor performance to ensure operational efficiency
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure compliance with marketing programs and promotions
  • Oversee cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Monitor revenues and control inventory to optimize business performance
  • May be involved in menu planning for events and themed promotions
  • Perform other duties as required by management

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage management
  • 2-4 years' experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ADP payroll systems
  • Servesafe, First Aid, and Smart Serve certifications an asset
  • Working knowledge of English
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Working Conditions

  • Experience working with fresh ingredients and creating meals from scratch in a fast-paced environment
  • Certifications as required to comply with local health codes
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and food handling safety standards
  • Ability to lift 10kg, pull, and push carts
  • Must be available evenings and weekends
