We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nursing Professional to join our Cardiac Care team at William Osler Health System.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time position, 12 hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in our Coronary Care Unit, working collaboratively with the inter-professional healthcare team.
Responsibilities:- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in the coronary care unit, prioritizing their needs and making autonomous decisions as needed
- Comply with policies and procedures related to observations and ensure patient safety through professional, patient-centered care
- Respond to emergency situations by recognizing changes in patient health status and consulting appropriately when necessary using transfer of accountability principles
- Teach patients and families about their conditions and treatment options, providing thorough discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care in the community
- Critical care experience within the last five years, with a minimum of two years in an acute cardiac or critical care environment required
- ACLS certification required; Coronary Care I and II certification or Critical Care certificate preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team and excellent communication skills
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and sound knowledge of nursing process, theory, and responsibilities to the nursing profession
We offer a competitive salary range: $85,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes extended health and dental coverage, pension plan, and generous paid time off.
