About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Autism Tutor to join our team at St.Amant in Flin Flon. As an Autism Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) intervention to assigned children under the direction of the Autism Consultant and Senior Tutor.
  • Attend team meetings and workshops to stay up-to-date on best practices and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Collect and analyze data on child progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless coordination of services and maintain a high level of quality care.
  • Communicate effectively with children's families, keeping them informed of progress, care, and well-being.
  • Support children in daily activities, self-care, and personal care as needed, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Stay informed about policies and procedures of the Autism Programs and St.Amant, adhering to guidelines and reporting any high-risk situations.
  • Develop and implement individualized programs and teaching strategies to help children achieve their goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in ABA and autism support.
Requirements
  • Minimum education of a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Assets
  • Previous experience working with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities or ASD.
  • Post-secondary coursework in behavior modification or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Previous work experience in a supervised ABA program.
  • Knowledge of philosophies and practices in education, care, and support services for individuals with disabilities.
