Job Description

Course Overview

Painting and Context I is an introductory course that explores the fundamental principles of painting and observation. Students will develop their skills in translating the human figure and other observed forms into visual representations, while also examining the expressive possibilities of painting.

Course Objectives

  • Develop observation and translation skills in painting
  • Explore the expressive possibilities of painting
  • Examine the role of perception in visual representation

Requirements

Applicants must have a Master of Fine Arts or equivalent, with a recognized reputation and exhibition record in painting and contemporary art. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level is also required.

An acceptable level of education and/or experience may be viewed as equivalent to the required educational qualifications and/or demonstrated experience.
