Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency/Critical Care Float team at Lakeridge Health. As a key member of our Resource Pool Nursing Team, you will provide exceptional patient care and participate in site-specific programs.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care
- Participate in the Resource Pool Nursing Team for Emergency and Critical Care site-specific programs
- Maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice
- Responsible for maintaining health records according to hospital policy, procedure, and standards
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BLS certification
- BScN and ACLS preferred
- Critical care certificate completion preferred and/or must be enrolled within a year
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining the Quality Assurance Program as outlined by the CNO
- Recent significant Emergency/Critical Care/Intensive Care/Cardiopulmonary experience
- Proven cardiac rhythm interpretation and patient assessment skills
- Effective organizational, prioritization, critical thinking, time management, problem-solving, and teaching skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven sound judgment, good observation skills, tact, and empathy
- Demonstrated ability to assume a charge/supervisory role
- Physically capable to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with assistance
- Demonstrated ongoing professional development activities
- Must have a satisfactory performance record

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).
Successful external applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six months.
