We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Safety Specialist to join our team at Green Infrastructure Partners. As a key member of our Fleet Safety Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our fleet operations across Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Subject Matter Expertise: Provide in-depth knowledge and guidance on CVOR, NSC, Provincial Highway Traffic Acts, Regulations, Federal Law, and GIP Policies and Procedures related to Transportation Safety.
- Compliance and Education: Ensure drivers understand and adhere to all Fleet Safety legislation and company policies, providing education and training as needed.
- Incident Investigation and Response: Conduct post-incident debriefs, assign corrective actions, and provide re-training as necessary to prevent future incidents.
- Driver Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct pre-hire driver evaluations to determine competencies and conduct field observations or ride-a-longs with written assessments/feedback/re-certification to the driver and management.
- Compliance Audits and Monitoring: Carry out proactive yard visits and audit drivers' documentation and required safety items to ensure compliance, as well as conduct site and shop audits to ensure all required documentation meets CVOR & MVIS requirements.
- Hours of Service Monitoring: Monitor drivers' Hours of Service on GeoTab Drive ELD system and conduct coaching moments to both drivers and operations to reduce violations.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain driver files in compliance with CVOR and Insurance requirements, including maintaining a Fleet Drivers List and CVOR Drivers List, and uploading and filing all documentation and training specific to drivers and fleet into the Flex system.
- Collision Investigations: Conduct adequate on-scene and tabletop collision investigations and write reports for all major vehicle collisions.
- Training Development and Delivery: Develop and maintain all Fleet Safety related training content, including teaching Fleet Safety training courses to drivers and other stakeholders.
- 1+ years of experience as a Driver Trainer or Fleet Safety Professional.
- Extensive overnight travel on a regular basis.
- Ability to drive long distances on a regular basis.
- Extensive knowledge of CVOR, NSC, HTA, TDG, NSC Standards.
- Collision Investigation Course would be an asset.
- Proven experience teaching Fleet Safety training courses.
- Well-developed computer skills, including using Excel to create charts & graphs and Power Point for course and presentation creation.
- Experience with GeoTab GPS / ELD systems would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication, both verbal and written.
- Comfortable teaching class sizes up to 50 people.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and climb in, out and under commercial vehicles.
- Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
