Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Family Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in family law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Manage family law files independently, handling a wide range of matters including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division.
- Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, providing expert representation for clients.
- Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, demonstrating exceptional writing and advocacy skills.
- Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, utilizing strong negotiation and advocacy skills to achieve successful outcomes.
- Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, ensuring timely and effective resolution of client matters.
- Experience in general civil litigation is an asset, but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of current experience in British Columbia family law practice, with a strong track record of success.
- Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently, with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
- Strong judgment, interpersonal skills, and a desire to become part of the community served.
- Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership, with a strong commitment to professional development.
- Base salary: $110,000 – $150,000, depending on the year of call, with opportunities for bonuses and professional development.
