About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our Intelligent Talent Acquisition (ITA) and Assessments Engineering team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future growth of Amazon by delivering an industry-leading candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work through all phases of the project lifecycle, including reviewing requirements, designing services, building new interfaces, integrating with existing architectures, developing and testing code, and delivering seamless implementations for Global customers.
- Evaluate and utilize AWS technologies, such as EC2, RDS/DynamoDB/RedShift, to design and build scalable backend web services and customer-facing APIs.
- Possess knowledge and skills in building highly interactive interfaces using modern technologies, including JavaScript, Typescript, Module Federation, React & React Native.
- Deeply understand and work with a variety of developer tools across the spectrum of Software development lifecycle.
- Design products that scale to meet demand.
- Combine the best of internal and external services, and grow to meet the complex needs of your customers.
- Enjoy solving problems that will take you beyond your technical abilities.
- Work well in a heterogeneous environment of different languages and technologies, and can bring flexibility, speed, and quality to this team.
- Build iteratively using agile methodologies.
About the Team:
Amazon Assessments Orchestration, part of Intelligent Talent Acquisition (ITA), is building a microservices-based serverless architecture to orchestrate online assessments between the various applicant tracking systems and in-house and third-party assessment vendors. Our mission is to improve candidate experience by providing a consistent low-latency, zero downtime, secure, and error-free journey into and out of assessments.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
