Microbiology Laboratory Manager

As a key member of the Pharmascience team, the Microbiology Laboratory Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. Reporting to the Head of Quality and Compliance, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the microbiology laboratory, supporting our three manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of the microbiology laboratory, ensuring seamless operations across four work shifts.
  • Review and approve new microbiological methods, validation reports, and protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain environmental monitoring programs, ensuring the implementation and monitoring of trend analysis systems.
  • Assess the impact of change requests on microbiological quality, ensuring the safety of our products and raw materials.
  • Participate in investigations related to environmental monitoring, product analysis, and laboratory activities.
  • Review and maintain procedures related to environmental monitoring and microbiology activities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and systems, ensuring the accuracy and approval of laboratory data.
  • Participate in departmental budgeting and hiring processes.

Human Resources Management:

  • Hire, train, and develop staff to achieve defined objectives.
  • Manage, motivate, and evaluate the performance of team members.
  • Maintain workforce levels to meet corporate objectives.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of Canadian, European, and American Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Expertise in microbiology requirements and techniques for manufacturing sterile and non-sterile dosage forms.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and ensure follow-ups.
  • Excellent people management skills and mastery of French and English, both oral and written.
  • Mastery of the MS Office suite and Microsoft Project.
