About the Role
">- We're seeking a Senior Game Designer to join our EA SPORTS NHL team, focusing on creating new experiences, modes, and features for Hockey Ultimate Team.
- As a key member of our Design team, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement game-changing features that deliver high-quality results within tight constraints.
- You will report to the Senior Creative Director and be responsible for guiding and improving other designs and designers, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design and product owner leadership to shape game mode directions, aligning with the product vision and strategic goals.
- Design engaging progression systems and features, balancing player needs with business objectives.
- Motivate and inspire the team to achieve exceptional results, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
- Analyze research data to understand market trends, player sentiments, and use it to inform creative decisions that drive business success.
- Prioritize feature development with Production Leads, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content.
- Partner with Peer Design Leadership to ensure new features integrate seamlessly into relevant opportunities and insights.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Designer in the video game industry, with a strong track record of delivering top-quality games.
- Familiarity with player progression systems and their impact on game engagement.
- Proven ability to mentor and coach junior designers, providing constructive feedback to drive growth.
- Experience in console/AAA game development, with a focus on innovative gameplay mechanics.
- Able to own design areas from concept to implementation, driving project success through proactive ownership.
- Strong understanding of how to design player experiences that support strategic business objectives, leveraging game analytics for informed decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
