About This Role

The Home Depot Canada is seeking a skilled Tool Rental Technician to join our team. As a key member of our tool rental department, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Tool Rental Technician, you will:

  • Provide outstanding service to customers by ensuring equipment is reliable and properly maintained
  • Manage tool inventory by maintaining tools and repairing them as necessary
  • Forecast and order parts for repair using a computer to process transactions
  • Train Tool Rental Associates on how to turn and service tools properly
  • Perform maintenance duties, such as keeping the work area clean and organized
  • Act as a Sales Associate on the floor, providing information and answering customer questions
  • Troubleshoot and maintain all equipment
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and/or hands-on experience with all products in the department
  • Operate a cash register and follow related procedures
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of all tools, including maintenance, repair, and proper usage
  • Analyze information to recognize potential problems and propose solutions
  • Provide outstanding customer service

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum time in position and performance management code requirements of V2 (or P3 in previous system)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of all policies, procedures, and duties related to customer service
  • Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of tools, including maintenance, repair, and proper usage
