About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in Nisku, AB. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on new challenges and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently undertake machining projects as assigned.
  • Ensure the finished quality of machined pieces meets our high standards.
  • Complete machining and manufacturing projects according to the shop schedule.
  • Perform manual machining as required.
  • Operate vertical and horizontal turning, horizontal boring mill equipment with expertise.
  • Utilize Mastercam, Mazatrol, Conversational & G-Code Programming skills to optimize production.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc & Heidenhein controls is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with milling, turning, and live tooling is essential.
  • Verify toolpaths and modelling fixtures prior to production to ensure accuracy.
  • Determine the most suitable tooling and testing methods for optimization.
  • Maintain a proactive and positive approach when completing assigned tasks individually or as part of the team.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman certification or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Meet customer expectations by working closely with the Foreman.
  • Meet operational objectives while aligning with overall corporate goals.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and promote health and safety awareness.
  • Identify, investigate, and correct unsafe practices.
  • Support employee development, mentorship, and growth.
  • Maintain a positive 'team' environment on the shop floor through respectful dealings with individuals from all departments.
  • Meet set deadlines as per the shop schedule and customer demands.
  • Occasionally lift/carry weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally push/pull weights up to 150 lbs.
  • Overtime and some evening/weekend work may be required.
  • On-call duties may be necessary.

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience. Additional benefits include a WSA plan with a health spending account, wellness spending account, extended medical and dental coverage (70/30), short-term and long-term disability options, paid after 90 days of employment.
