Millwright Apprentice

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Millwright Apprentice to join our team at Sofina Foods Inc. in Abbotsford, BC. As a Millwright Apprentice, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including conveyors, industrial equipment, pumps, grinders, and welding equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as PMs, PDMs, and CMs, to ensure equipment is running efficiently.
• Work in a team environment to troubleshoot and repair equipment, and to maintain a safe working environment.
• Use hand and power tools, and have knowledge of installation of equipment.
• Follow GMP rules and GMP for Maintenance rules.
• Account for inventory and labor on a computerized maintenance program.

Requirements:

• Registered Millwright Mechanic Apprentice.
• At least one year of recent, in-class training completed of the apprenticeship program, within the last 3 years.
• Minimum one-year full-time experience, working as a Millwright Mechanic apprentice.
• Previous exposure to the maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment, motors, drives, electronics, instrumentation, pumps, and conveyor systems.

Work Conditions:

• Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment.
• Exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
