Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

DMC Recruitment is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team in Kelowna, BC. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in shaping the future of major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and develop precise quantity takeoffs
  • Build project schedules and master construction methodologies
  • Work closely with Estimating and Operations teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Navigate contract models and understand terms and conditions
  • Apply knowledge of earthworks and concrete in remote, challenging locations
  • Adapt to fast-paced changes with ease and confidence
  • Lead smaller opportunities, take initiative, and manage tasks independently
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (preferred)
  • Skilled in construction estimating software
  • A background in fieldwork, technical diploma, or an engineering degree (an asset)
  • Experience with industry organizations such as ASTTBC or EGBC (an asset)
  • Strong multitasking abilities and deadline-driven work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure, with a keen eye for change management
