About the Role

The Salt Spring Centre School is seeking a qualified and experienced Primary Teacher to join our team. As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Valid BC teaching certificate
  • Interest and expertise in K-3 learning
  • Training in Primary literacy and numeracy pedagogy
  • Understanding of and commitment to social-emotional learning and youth mental health
  • Ability to work with neurodiversity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in oral and written English
