Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineering Specialist to join our team at Magellan Aerospace Limited. As a key member of our manufacturing hub in Winnipeg, Manitoba, you will be responsible for providing technical support for special processes, preparing and maintaining company documentation, and acting as a prime contact for internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for special processes, including welding, heat treat, chemical processing, non-conventional machining, NDT, and composites.
  • Prepare and maintain company documentation controlling special processes.
  • Train, qualify, and certify special process operators.
  • Act as a prime contact for internal and external special process audits.
  • Provide analysis of results from applicable test methods (mechanical and NDT).
  • Provide technical assistance in the preparation and development of operating procedures.
  • Review customer specifications and prepare technical documents related to process control and mechanical testing.
  • Act as the process focal for customer and external 3rd party (NADCAP) audits to attain and maintain process qualifications.
  • Provide process improvement support and continuous improvement.
  • Provide MRB support and failure analysis, and prepare repair procedures per customer requirements.
  • Establish operator qualifications for special processes per customer requirements.
  • Review procedures to support approval of subcontractors.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering from a recognized university or a Mechanical Engineering Technologist (MET) diploma from a recognized technical college.
  • Knowledge of special processing required for aerospace components.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials (metallic and composite).
  • Knowledge of aerospace test methods (mechanical and NDT).
  • Experience in the preparation and development of technical documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
  • Personal computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Previous aerospace special processes experience will be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to meet the Visual Acuity requirements specified in Magellan Aerospace, Winnipeg's internal policies.
