Job Summary:

The Child Support Specialist will work closely with teachers and families to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with diverse needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized support to children with varying degrees of need
  • Planning and implementing programming based on the needs of the child, in collaboration with a certificated teacher
  • Effective communication and relationship-building with children and families
  • Collaboration with a team to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Writing and tracking individualized plans, as well as parent communication

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1-3 years of experience working in the childcare field or in a position with children who have diverse learning or developmental delays
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a driver's license
  • Meet province requirements for childcare employment
  • Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
  • Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
