Job Summary:
As a Health and Safety Coordinator at EllisDon, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and subcontractors on construction sites. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and mitigate potential hazards, develop and implement safety protocols, and conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.
- Provide training and education to employees and subcontractors on safety procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety initiatives and programs.
- Monitor and report on safety metrics and trends to inform business decisions.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in health and safety management within the construction industry.
- Working towards or already certified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations with experience working on large-scale construction sites.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate.
- College degree or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Experience with COR process certification is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
