Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production efficiencies are achieved.
  • Manage the stockroom and provide order requests for parts required for routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Install, modify, and change over equipment as required.
  • Handle troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs, as well as predictive maintenance plans and spare parts supply.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and replacement parts are available for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime.
  • Work with other trades groups to complete project assignments and provide training to plant staff as required.
  • Document and maintain all appropriate records.
  • Follow all GMPs and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements.
  • Comply with and ensure all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WSIB, and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager.

Requirements:

  • Professional Certificate of Industrial Maintenance (e.g., 442A Certificate of Qualification) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting, equipment repairs, and welding experience is a must.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience related to the food industry, preferably dairy, or high-speed process equipment or packaging experience.
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics knowledge.
  • Boiler, refrigeration, and air handling systems experience is an asset.
  • Able to read blueprints, troubleshoot, and have analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative.
  • Dependable with a good attendance and safety record.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to support all shifts, including weekends and overtime, and/or being on call.
