Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our dynamic team at Sun Life. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing cloud infrastructure and applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure and applications using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and Glue.
  • Manage and administer Enterprise Data Lake and related ecosystem technologies.
  • Develop and maintain cloud formation templates and scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Collaborate with database administrators and developers to define and document requirements.
  • Lead small to large infrastructure POCs and utilize defined technologies.
  • Perform performance tuning for queries, applications, and resources.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures for all supported database platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with team members, technical leads, and application support teams to ensure quality database services.
  • Evaluate functionality and features within related database products.
  • Contribute innovative solutions and best practice improvements.
Requirements
  • Strong academic credentials, degree or diploma in Computer Science or related information technology or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in database development, ETL, and reporting.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Linux for efficient system management.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Python/Bash/PowerShell experience for automation and scripting tasks.
  • Ansible and Terraform and Kubernetes, Docker containers experience for infrastructure automation.
  • Demonstrated experience with EDL and related technologies.
  • Experience with AWS services or equivalent tools on other cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of network services, Active Directory, Linux user and group administration.
