About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to lead our Chinese cuisine team at River Rock Casino Resort. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality dishes are prepared and presented in accordance with company standards.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in Chinese cuisine, preferably with wok cooking experience. You will be required to work up to 40 hours per week, including evenings, graveyard shifts, and weekends.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and executing Chinese menu items to meet our high-quality standards.
  • Assisting Commis Chefs with food receiving, storage, and rotation.
  • Cleaning culinary equipment after use, adhering to health and safety policies.
  • Participating in monthly culinary meetings and liaising with operational departments.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Chinese cuisine.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary education in authentic Asian cuisine is an asset.
  • Level 1 FoodSafe, Safe Food Handling, or BASICS.fst Food Handler Certificate.
  • Bilingualism in English and Mandarin/Cantonese is considered an asset.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, we provide opportunities for professional growth and development.
