Cloud Infrastructure Architect Lead

Montreal, Quebec, Canada CHROME TECHNOLOGIES Full time

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead our IT infrastructure team in achieving their objectives through the effective use of technology. This position will report directly to the Data Center Operations Manager and be based in Montreal.

The successful candidate will provide strategic vision and leadership for North America system infrastructure, including Microsoft components (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, Exchange, SharePoint, System Center, hardening) and its evolution to Azure (Public, Private or Hybrid Cloud, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), O365 platform, Virtualization technologies (VMware and Citrix), storage, security, and backup technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop project/operations specific architectural and comprehensive technology designs, solutions, and implementation plans for the Data Center Team.
  2. Evaluate and develop optimized infrastructure designs based on rigorous understanding of returned benefits and impact on Business or IT.
  3. Design architectures with 'Security by Design' principles, incorporating security controls and measures at the design phase to mitigate potential risks and threats.
  4. Assess and recommend the right technology for the context.
  5. Evaluate entire projects from a technical stance, ensuring that methods and technologies used are practical and correct and fit for purpose.
  6. Validate and challenge detailed technical infrastructure architectures provided by technology partners, team members, and vendors in support of a project or Operation technical solution.
  7. Support transition of the project to Operations.
  8. Act as a final point of escalation within their area of expertise for any Data Center architecture.
  9. Investigate the viability of upcoming and emerging technologies to improve the infrastructure's stability, longevity, and adaptability.
  10. Participate in architecture reviews and/or audits.
  11. Ensure Infrastructure architecture compliance.
  12. Contribute to overall IT strategy with relevant Infrastructure architecture.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
  2. 10+ years of total experience in IT with relevant technologies.
  3. 5+ years of experience in the analysis and understanding of the Infrastructure related to Data Center, hardware, and systems including servers, network, security, storage, and compute for traditional, hybrid, or cloud Data Centers.
  4. 7+ years of experience in deploying and managing virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, etc.).
  5. 5+ years of experience in various IT roles and environments up to and including technical or IT team leadership positions.
  6. 5+ years of experience with cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS & SaaS), automation, orchestration, cost frameworks, trends, and Industry-leading private/public/hybrid cloud vendor offerings and interoperability.
  7. 5+ years of experience in high demand, low fault tolerance environments.
  8. 5+ years of experience in a technical infrastructure design role and demonstration of subject expertise.
Competencies:
  1. Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in English (French is a plus).
  2. Demonstrate strong applied knowledge of layered architectures, virtualized environments, security, monitoring, and high availability systems.
  3. Self-motivated with strong ability to learn business rules and comply with existing and new requirements.
  4. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Good knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices (e.g. ITIL).
Estimated Salary Range:$120,000 - $180,000 per year,Job Benefits:
