Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. You will work closely with our team to create a safe and inclusive environment that promotes learning and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, and values and ethics
Work Environment:

Our centre is a day care centre or nursery school with a air-conditioned environment. We offer a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with some bending, crouching, and kneeling required.

Language:

The primary language of work is English, with a 37.5 to 44 hours per week work schedule.
