Job Summary

The Regina Public Library is seeking a highly skilled Digital Media Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Media Studio, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting services that enable customers to explore, collaborate, and learn about digital media.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate access and use of the Digital Media Studio, ensuring fair and appropriate use of resources across all user segments.
  2. Identify opportunities, develop ideas, and coordinate the planning and implementation of digital media programming, working closely with internal departments to develop engaging and high-profile events.
  3. Develop and facilitate customer support solutions, including self-serve tools and training/orientation workshops for customers, staff, and external partners.
  4. Coordinate the development of an evaluation and measurement program to monitor usage and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
  5. Perform related work, including participation on teams, committees, or special projects as assigned by the Community Librarian.
Requirements
  • Three years of demonstrated experience in sound studio digital audio recording, video recording, studio lighting, framing, and green screen studio techniques, graphic design, and post-production audio/video editing.
  • Experience with various media production software platforms, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Avid Pro Tools or similar Digital Audio Workstation software platforms.
  • Experience with musical instruments and/or working with musicians is an asset, as is interest in other digital technologies.
  • A post-secondary diploma is required, with marketing or a related technical field of study preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the public, staff, and external user groups, and to work as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently manage work, scheduling, and priorities to support customer-centred services.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving ability, including the ability to assess and problem-solve using logical, fact-based reasoning.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility and perform duties requiring independent judgement, initiative, and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines, work under minimal supervision, and handle multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to find and propose innovation opportunities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to deliver consistent, high-quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of program design, management, and evaluation.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, able to manage internal and external customers.
