We are seeking a skilled Claims Advisor to join our team at Peace Hills Insurance. As a Claims Advisor, you will play a critical role in investigating, negotiating, and settling claims related to bodily injury.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of casualty claims, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Confirm coverages, determine liability, and verify entitlement to coverage, utilizing your expertise in Commercial General Liability and Personal Liability policies.
- Collect and review medical documents and treatment plans to quantify claims, demonstrating your ability to critically analyze data and negotiate effectively.
- Negotiate with claimant counsel, mediate disputes, and attend examinations/questioning as required, showcasing your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Document all file activity in a detailed and organized manner, maintaining effective communication channels within the claims department and with outside professionals.
- Assist operations during high-volume periods by examining overflow files, demonstrating your ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Extensive experience in a Bodily Injury role, supplemented by post-secondary education and/or a CIP/FCIP designation or working towards same.
- Proven experience with Commercial General Liability and Personal Liability policies, as well as mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to critically evaluate data and make decisive decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with auto contracts and the Traffic Safety Act and Minor Injury Regulation.
