Job Title: Heavy Vehicle Operator

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Operator to join our team at Chahal Bros Transport. As a Heavy Vehicle Operator, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various routes.

Job Description:

The Heavy Vehicle Operator will perform the following tasks:

  • Loading and unloading goods from vehicles
  • Obtaining special permits and documents required for international transport
  • Operating trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Maintaining vehicle condition and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
  • Paying and receiving payments for goods
  • Performing brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
  • Conducting pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
  • Receiving and relaying information to central dispatch
  • Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid AZ class license
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Experience with documentation knowledge, including accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports
  • Familiarity with tractor-trailer equipment and communication systems, including GPS and on-board computers
  • International, long-haul, provincial/territorial, and short-haul transportation experience
