Job Title: Dock Line Handler

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dock Line Handler to join our team at SGS Canada. This is a unique opportunity for individuals looking for a flexible and challenging role that requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tie up and release ships safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct visual inspections of ships to ensure mechanical soundness and identify any defective equipment.
  • Check ships for the last product contained and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Hook up and disconnect cargo and fueling hoses, and operate equipment to load and unload liquid petroleum and other products.
  • Communicate effectively with facility supervisors and other team members to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Process and complete paperwork and documentation in accordance with client requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as required, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, and assisting with inventory and material checks.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 years of relevant work experience or equivalent experience through education.

Additional Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a petroleum refinery field is a strong asset.
  • Ability to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe and timely manner.
  • Proven time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
