About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team at ARZ Contracting Ltd. as a Carpenter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to create high-quality structures.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients, ensuring accurate estimates and timelines.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to meet project specifications.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting deadlines.
  • Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to maintain a high level of quality and productivity.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects, ensuring budgetary compliance and efficiency.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Requirements
  • Experience in carpentry or a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour and work at heights.
