Operations Supervisor Job Summary
Metro Supply Chain is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead all facets of operations on the shift. This involves leading health and safety, operational performance, customer relations, continuous improvement, and people development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule labour requirements to meet production goals within budgeted cost structure.
- Complete shift briefings to ensure effective communication of relevant information to employees.
- Assign and follow up with operators and warehouse staff on task completion times.
- Ensure order sequences are picked based on priority shipments and customers.
- Hold team members accountable for proper picking and packing procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor and report daily/weekly departmental performance through KPI tracking and data collection.
- Approve labour hours using agile in adherence with company policies and maintain accurate record keeping.
- Provide daily feedback to employees through coaching and administer performance appraisals.
- Maintain close interaction with customers to develop strong relationships and assess service requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Fulfill duties of a supervisor under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Accountable for monitoring, achieving, and improving operational efficiency, quality, and safety KPIs.
Requirements:
- Five years distribution experience, preferably in a 3PL role.
- At least two years supervisory experience, preferably in a 3PL Operations role.
- Computer literacy in MS software and proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems.
