We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as a Senior Director, Accounting Policy and Governance. As a key member of our Chief Accountant's Group, you will play a critical role in shaping the accounting and disclosure requirements for Royal Bank of Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a Team of Professionals: Provide valued accounting advice on complex matters to internal stakeholders across RBC, leveraging your expertise in IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
- Review and Assess Complex Transactions: Analyze and review complex accounting transactions and policy assessments for critical accounting matters.
- Support Quarterly External Reporting: Oversee the delivery of critical elements of our quarterly reporting, collaborating closely with other areas of the Chief Accountant's Group to ensure a seamless one-team approach.
- Develop and Deliver Audit Committee Materials: Lead a team to deliver high-quality materials for senior finance executives, telling the RBC story with a commercial/business lens.
- Drive Process Improvements: Bring your unique perspective to drive continued transformation of the Auditor Independence function, streamlining activities while mitigating risk.
- Advocate for Accounting and Disclosure Requirements: Shape future accounting and disclosure requirements by leading advocacy efforts on accounting-related issues, providing comments on new Discussion Papers or Exposure Drafts issued by accounting and regulatory bodies.
- Build and Develop Strong Relationships: Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders across the organization, communicating key accounting and disclosure matters to senior leaders using a commercial/business lens.
- Chartered Professional Accountant Designation
- 10+ Years of Relevant Work Experience
- In-Depth Knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP
