Designated Professional, Assurance and Accounting Expert

As a Designated Professional with MNP's Assurance and Accounting team, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our clients. This dynamic team is dedicated to providing tailored financial solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial engagements, including compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping, and tax services
  • Establish and manage client files, ensuring seamless execution of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Provide expert guidance on financial matters, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and disposition, and payroll
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant documents
  • Assess and ensure the appropriateness of audit evidence for various financial transactions
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports
  • Develop and implement effective charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accounts
  • Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings and recommendations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, while coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities
  • Be flexible to travel, as necessary, to support client needs

Requirements and Qualifications

  • CPA designation
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software
  • Understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
